Speech/Language Pathologist - Elementary School
Gasconade County R-1 is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for an anticipated opening for the 2022-2023 school term for the position of Speech/ Language Pathology (SLP). This position is in the elementary/early childhood special education setting. The SLP shall assess students and provide therapeutic intervention to students exhibiting speech, language and/or voice disorders that impact their functioning within the educational setting.
Duties shall include but are not limited to: Provide student screenings/assessments to determine speech/ language evaluation needs, interpret results and develop Individual Education Plans and implementation of treatment, record progress notes for monitoring and reporting, collaborate with teachers to implement classroom activities and supports to promote speech and language skills of students, provide staff development and support related to speech and language functioning of students, demonstrate effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students and community, collaborate with peers, adapt to changes with a positive attitude, stay apprised of compliance deadlines and reporting, be flexible with change.
This position will abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations and maintain complete and accurate records. Master’s degree in Communication Disorders or Speech Language Pathology and applicable certifications to meet Missouri and DESE requirements are required. Missouri licensure in Speech-Language Pathology required; CCC-SLP (Certificate of Clinical Competence-Speech-Language Pathology). Speech/language teaching experience in schools or other comparable settings preferred but not required.
